today was a great day. i found some pics from a fashion show a did a little ago, and also celebrated ja rule’s 8th birthday by myself. i realized i only know one song he’s got, that one with j.lo.
i want my first child to be born on leap year so he can be cool, too. maybe i can get pregnant in may 2011.

oh and then i found some pics, and videos from that nice fashion show. i walked for designers aqua luxe, irma la dolce, and david tupaz couture. the clothes were really amazing, i wanted to keep them all. i had 6 outfits total, but only got pictures of 3.

today was awesomness. one of the best jobs ever. awesome band, awesome crew, awesome talent – the video is gonna be great! the guys from the band were so funny, friendly, and just freaken cool. they’re from london. the video was for the song “drama queen”, which is actually a pretty cool song. listen to it on their myspace

we shot all day, from 9 to 9, in a location studio, a set built to make it look like a city from the middle east (look at the pictures). there were 10 girls, representing different countries. i was brazil yeah! we wore very stereotypical outfits, including weapons. bad ass.
we started out all pretty…. but we all kicked each others asses by the end of the song. it was so fun because in the morning we got all dolled up in the make up room, but through the day, the make up artists and hair stylists would literally f us up – bloody lips, black eyes, smeared make up, cuts with dripping blood, ripped clothes, etc. we were fighting for the crown.

so yesterday i got a call. it was a direct booking yay! (that’s when you get a booking/job without having had to go to an audition, they pick you from your photos and resume or agency).

it was for a music video, for “switches”, a band from london, signed with interscope. they are awesome and i like their music. it’s actually my type of music. www.switchesmusic.co.uk
my role was going to be “miss brazil”. i guess there was no miss peru, or miss italy haha. anyway, good pay, and a large production. the production manager said it would be very fun. so i said hell yes.

i asked when the shoot was. she said TUESDAY. uh oh….. i have a photoshoot for hitch couture… i was double booked. once again [i was triple booked in one day in january. IT SUCKS]
i called jeanne. she was in a great mood. i begged her to please please move the shoot. (just really want to do both jobs). i thought it would not hurt to ask. she was so nice, she said she was gonna try to move it. so today she texted me and said the shoot will be later this week, either wed or fri. thank you j! seriously how cool is she.

adam, our kitty leona, and me went to the fitting (where i try the outfit i will wear for the shoot) for my role as miss brazil earlier tonight. i also got the call sheet. all i’m gonna say, is that i will be wearing a green and gold ensemble of a dress and jewellery, and sequin. oh, and there will be action…

i am very excited and probably should go to bed cause my call time is 9 a.m.

i just wanted to publicly announce that i love my grandpa and that he is 84 today. he is so strong, so intelligent, and so funny. i talked to him and he was so talkative and upbeat, you would have never thought he just had a stroke a little over a week ago.

he was on the way to the bank, when he had the stroke and passed out in the middle of the street. thank God someone saw him and called the ambulance right away. the next day, when he was at the hospital, the nurse came in the room and asked him to get up to see if he was able to walk. he got up, got out the door, and started walking down the hall. he said “see, i’m fine i don’t need to be here!” i find this hilarious and makes me happy at the same time. he has had NO effects from the stroke. :)

i love him and my grandma very much and wish i could see them and hug them every weekend.
in two days, they will have been married for 58 years. :)

so today i had 4 castings scheduled. unfortunately, i could only attend 3.
i was very busy in the morning, so i left my house at 1pm, and came back at 6. it is very sad to say that because i live in los angeles, i spent almost 5 of those hours driving. (well, i did stop by the pet store on the way back…)

i went to my first casting, it was for an energy drink advertisement. i don’t remember if i was not allowed to talk about it publicly, so i won’t say the name. anyway. so, when i was being semi-interviewed by the casting director, he asked me if i had had that energy drink. of course, i opted by answering what first came to mind, and instead of being smart and saying, “yes i have! i really like it” i said, “no… i don’t like energy drinks. i am naturally hyper”.
not the best answer but oh well. he handed me one, and i drank it. it was like sprite. actually good, and bubbly.
he took pictures of me with the drink. nice and quick.

on my way back to the car (on hollywood blvd), i slipped and ate shit and a guy right in front of the scientology center or whatever that cult is, who was giving out leaflets, laughed at me. pretty hard. well it was raining A LOT, and i was wearing my cute little boots. i forgive you, bastard, cause i laugh as hard when other people fall.
i did not spill my energy drink cause i had already chugged it in the elevator. ha!

i got an email today from jeanne, the owner of hitch couture. she asked me to shoot for her next week, so that’s exciting :) the clothes are very cute and she’s also letting me pick some yay! i will be shooting with a great photographer who i will meet, and will be modeling with jael strauss, from america’s next top model from last year.

how interesting this industry is, and how small, that i will be working with jeanne and jael again. i met them when i modeled for hitch couture’s fashion show in los angeles a couple of months ago. jael was one of the runway models. that runway show was so fun. jeanne is so cool, she brought corona’s. for the models. how bad ass is that. though i did not drink, mostly everyone else did. it was so hilarious, us models trying to walk the runway without falling haha.

ok, so today i had two biggies.
in the afternoon i drove to hollywood to a casting for a target tv commercial. they needed tall fashion models for a spring tv spot. i was there for 15 minutes. it was quick and painless. signed in. polaroid. then, on camera, i had to walk runway style, and then dance. i don’t think i’ll get it, cause there are girls that look much more high fashion than me. this is where my boobs will probably fail me at getting me a job haha. but i went anyway cause it was a very very nice pay and i had nothing to lose ;)

then i drove to culver city. for some reason, i had NO idea it was for levi’s jeans. i thought it was for a jewellery company haha what an idiot. i was probably spaced out when tereza (my agent) called me.
when i got there, i saw and talked to my girlfriend and former co-model from uberwarning, silvy kas. she was gorgeous as always.
inside, i was happy again i only waited 5 minutes. i signed in, got polaroid, and put a pair of levi’s on. then, on camera, i had to walk, punch myself on the face, and like it. nice tv commercial. i hope i get it cause i think the little masochist in me wants to! haha

seriously if i put together all the videos for all the castings i have done, it would be the most amazing, random, ridiculous, black-mailing-prone footage you’ve ever seen of me.

the best so far was when i did a casting for burger king, last november. i waited 40 minutes for my spot. then, in the shooting room, the prop was a freaken burger [remember i am vegetarian?]. i went as far as actually sitting down, picking up the burger, and then – before the bite – asking “do you have a veggie patty?”. how much more stupid can i get? i don’t know. i don’t think i got that one (i walked away anyway, ha!).

so i just came back from vegas last night! the show was great! but i was tired every single night, so i went to bed at 9 pm from sunday to wednesday haha. i also finished reading my book (middlesex) while i was there.

so my website’s portfolio sucks, and i’ve been working on it. ugh, flash. the new grey version is up, instead of the red one. check it out!
i need to make an html portfolio as well, for those who just want to look at my pictures quickly without the fancy stuff.

i also uploaded adam’s song “that’s the beat” in my new flash portfolio. by the way, he’s finally going to make a record in a few weeks, so that’s good news! i’m very excited for him. he checked out the studio this week. i will be a contributing musician, playing the triangle as well as clapping haha.

AND… i’m eating peanuts. they are delicious except that my 5th wisdom tooth (yep) is growing so it hurts. ok, now back to messing with the flash template…. still wondering if i should put pictures in the background…. hmmm….

i drove to beverly hills today to go to a video shoot for Huecco, a latin alternative singer from spain with a gold album and a double-platinum single. (i used to listen to that type of music when i lived in lima. i really miss it on the radio!)
the shoot did not take long. i was there for literally 40 minutes. i got there, went to make up, and went straight to the camera. my role was short, but camera was full on me. it was a cute role. will come out in march/april :)

then i met Huecco, who had just gotten there. he was super nice, we spoke in spanish yay! we talked for a bit, told him i like his music. he was nice and very down to earth – it’s just awesome to meet singers who are as cool as their music.
exchanged numbers for contact, and for a possible coffee before he gets back to spain. look forward for the video!

sometime last week i got a call from a casting director from telemundo, and asked me to be in a show the next day. i was very happy, because telemundo is the largest spanish speaking channel in the US, and it’s broadcasted in latin america as well. but…. i told her i could not attend because i had something going on that day, but asked her to call me back if she had anything in the future.

today, she called me again. it was last minute, call time was in a few hours. for a new show, some classy talk show, a mix between “the view” and “dr. phil”. i was going to be interviewed for a segment, and give my opinion on relationships or sth like that. the pay was good considering i was only going in for 2-3 hours. plus they’d have make up, hair, and a styilist – which i needed badly cause i look terrible today.

anyway, long story short, right before i left the show director called me. he asked me if i had ever been cheated on, and i said no. he then told me “could you pretend then you were married once and were cheated on?”. wth, i know. um, no. i felt bad, but i told him i did not want people to think i was actually married once, hell no. so then, i cancelled.

i gave up some minutes of int’l fame and some money for not lying about my life, which is worth much more than that. so there :)
