Rebirth of my career (and Hello World)
Today is the birth of my blog! And of course, the rebirth of my career as a model.
I tried to get this blog started back in November of ‘07. But many very interesting life events occurred and well, it was postponed until today.
Let’s recap what happened:
On November 13, I wrote my very first blog entry, and was planning on launching my [Alive] site that week.
On Nov 15, my car was broken into, vandalized, and a lot of my stuff was stolen including my $600 camera, my ipod, phone, wallet (credit cards were used), purse, an apple (the fruit), my flip flops… and worst of all, my ibook (apple laptop), which had years of photos, essays, videos, projects, designs, 35G of music, website templates, as well as expensive editing and designing programs. Computer forever gone, as well as years of memories in binary code…. gone…. my computer was not backed up.
Two weeks later, I quit modeling. Life was too hard without my beloved computer. I also thought it was time to continue my career in the advertising business (I had graduated from CSUF and got my BA in Communications – Advertising in ‘07, and was interning at awesome TBWA\Chiat\Day at that time).
I resigned from UberWarning (my modeling agency). Said bye to Linda (from my other agency Body Parts Models). And officially said to everyone, “I’m no longer a model”. It was a tough choice, because I enjoyed modeling. But I felt I had had enough of it.
Thanksgiving.
Finished internship at TBWA.
Christmas.
New Years.
2 year anniversary with my bf Adam. :)
While looking for a job in the only 4 ad agencies I wanted to work at, I realized the position I wanted was scarce, and I would have to wait for some openings since I wanted a specific position.
I had by then been constantly nagged by friends who wanted me to get back to modeling, and wondered why I left just when I was actually getting some good stuff. Some photographers even said I was “dumb” for quitting. Others wished me luck in the Ad world, saying it was a wise decision.
Deep inside, I was VERY confused. I missed modeling, but wanted a stable, 9-5 job as well. So I waited.
Sometime last week, Otto Models called me up. They are a well known commercial & print agency in Hollywood. Jason (who became my agent), told me they would have a lot of good stuff for me. Then, Gordon Rael (my new acting manager whom I had met right before I quit modeling) emailed me on Monday and told me to send him some pictures for my port, that he wanted to help me get my career to the next level. So what did I do? I got back into modeling, just a few days ago.
And I’m back with a vengeance! :)

well congratulations! you look awesome in your pictures:)
